Your Daily METRC Reconciliation Checklist

7/26/2026 11:22:17 PM +00:00

Keeping Marijuana Software and METRC in sync is easier when you complete a short reconciliation routine every day.

Daily review helps you catch rejected sales, incorrect package quantities, missing transactions, and other discrepancies before they become harder to resolve.

1. Review Upload Sales to METRC

Open Upload Sales to METRC from the Marijuana Software main menu.

If automatic reporting is enabled, this page should normally be empty. Any transactions still listed may contain an error or may not have successfully reached METRC.

Click Sync Sales with METRC, then review any warning messages. Correct the problem and upload the sale again.

How to Report Sales to METRC

Troubleshooting METRC Sales Uploading

2. Run the METRC Sales Reconciliation Report

Go to Reports and open the METRC Sales Reconciliation Report.

Select the date you want to review—usually the previous business day. Compare the sales total from Marijuana Software with the total reported by METRC.

A difference of a few cents may be caused by rounding. Larger differences should be investigated. Look for rejected uploads, sales entered directly into METRC, edited receipts, returns, voids, or an incorrect date range.

After making corrections, rerun the report and confirm that the totals match.

How to Use the METRC Sales Reconciliation Tool

3. Run the METRC Discrepancy Report

Next, run the METRC Discrepancy Report to find packages with different quantities in Marijuana Software and METRC.

Do not make an adjustment only to clear the report. First compare the package history in both systems and determine what caused the difference.

Common causes include:

  • A sale recorded in only one system

  • A direct METRC adjustment

  • A transfer, conversion, split, or return

  • An incorrect package tag

  • A package that was archived or finished

  • A sale recorded against the wrong package

Troubleshoot METRC Discrepancies

Daily Checklist

Before considering the day reconciled, confirm that:

  • The METRC upload queue was reviewed

  • Pending sales were uploaded or investigated

  • Daily sales totals match

  • Package discrepancies were reviewed

  • Corrections were made in both systems

  • Unresolved issues were documented

For the complete procedure, see our:

Daily Compliance SOP for METRC Reporting

Completing these three steps every day keeps the number of transactions you need to investigate manageable and helps keep your sales and inventory records accurate.

Contact Marijuana Software Support when you encounter a discrepancy you cannot resolve.

August 2026 Website Pricing Update

7/10/2026 11:54:10 PM +00:00

August 2026 Pricing Update: Websites, Web Menus, and Online Ordering

We have a short 4-minute, 20-second video available that explains upcoming pricing changes for Marijuana Software websites, web menus, and online ordering.

These changes are scheduled to take effect on August 1, 2026.

The most important thing to know is that we are not changing our POS pricing. There is also still no charge for Leafly or Weedmaps connections.

What Is Changing?

We are simplifying how we price websites, web menus, and online ordering. The goal is to make these services easier to understand, easier to manage, and more predictable each month.

Free Website Option

We will continue to offer a free website option for customers who need a simple online presence. The free website will be a basic banner-style website that can include your logo, business information, and a few images.

If you need a basic .com domain name, we can continue to provide one for $25 per year.

Standard Website With Live Menu

Customers who want a more complete website with a live menu connected to Marijuana Software can choose our standard website option.

The standard website includes a live product menu with product pictures, descriptions, prices, and current menu data pulled from your system.

The standard website will be $50 per month. For customers on this plan, the basic .com domain name is included, so there is no separate $25 annual renewal fee.

Online Ordering

Previously, online ordering included a $1 per order fee. We are removing that per-order fee and replacing it with a flat monthly price.

Going forward, online ordering will be $100 per month. This makes billing simpler and gives stores a more predictable monthly cost.

Online ordering will continue to support pickup and delivery workflows, along with supported payment partner options where available.

Web Menus and API Access

Marijuana Software web menus can power live display menus on smart TVs, be embedded into an existing website, or provide approved third-party access for vendors and data partners.

This makes web menus useful for stores that want to show live inventory to customers, improve their website, or connect with services such as analytics and menu providers.

Website Templates and Customization

Customers can review available website templates at ecommerce.marijuanasoftwarellc.com.

Standard website customers can receive one free hour of customization when choosing one of our templates. Additional customization is available if more design or setup work is needed.

What Is Not Changing?

Our POS pricing is not changing. Leafly and Weedmaps connections also remain available at no additional charge.

We appreciate your business and are continuing to improve the website, menu, ordering, and API tools available to Marijuana Software customers.

If you have questions or would like help reviewing your current website or web menu setup, please contact the Marijuana Software team.

Updates and Fixes 5-27-26

5/27/2026 6:49:31 AM +00:00

๐ŸŒฟ Product, Inventory, and POS Menu Updates

We’ve released a focused set of improvements to make Marijuana Software faster, more reliable, and easier to use during everyday store operations.

This update improves POS menu loading, strengthens product and inventory workflows, and adds behind-the-scenes reliability improvements to help your system run more smoothly.

๐Ÿš€ Faster, More Reliable POS Menu Loading

We improved the way menus load inside the POS to increase speed, stability, and consistency when staff are ringing up customers, viewing products, and working with menu items.

These changes help reduce menu loading issues and improve reliability during active sales.

๐Ÿงฉ Improved Category and Menu Compatibility

We also improved how product categories are handled behind the scenes.

This helps products display more consistently across menus, reports, and POS workflows, especially for stores using state-specific category mappings.

๐Ÿ›’ Product and Inventory Workflow Improvements

We cleaned up several product and inventory workflows to reduce friction for staff.

  • ๐ŸŒฑ Improved product page reliability
  • ๐Ÿ“ฆ Improved inventory item handling
  • ๐Ÿท๏ธ More consistent menu item naming
  • ๐Ÿ” Better support for rebuilding product indexes
  • ๐Ÿงพ Updated the Products page so special characters no longer break the product table
  • โš–๏ธ Fixed discrepancies when comparing ounces and pounds in the METRC Discrepancy Report
  • โŒจ๏ธ Improved barcode field behavior when using the Enter key

๐Ÿ”ง Behind-the-Scenes Reliability Improvements

Some of this release focused on technical cleanup customers may not see directly, but should benefit from.

We improved database update reliability, product indexing stability, and menu data handling so the system is better prepared to support larger menus, cleaner product data, and ongoing performance improvements.

โœ… Bottom Line

This release is focused on making product, inventory, and POS menu workflows faster, cleaner, and more reliable.

Your staff should see fewer interruptions, smoother menu loading, and better consistency when managing products and inventory.

๐Ÿ’š Thank You from the Marijuana Software Team

We appreciate every dispensary, processor, farm, and team member who relies on Marijuana Software to keep business moving.

Your feedback helps us continue improving the tools you use every day.

Updated Products Page - Planned Update May 19th 2026

5/18/2026 8:42:10 PM +00:00

๐ŸŒฟ What’s New

The big news in this release is that the Products page has been rebuilt to make browsing, searching, and managing products much faster and easier. Vendor, dashboard, employee, blog, and Display Screen areas also received updates to make daily store operations smoother.

๐Ÿ›’ Products page has been rebuilt

The Products page has been redesigned to better support larger product catalogs and make day-to-day product management easier.

Stores should notice faster searching, filtering, paging, and product lookup, especially when working with lots of inventory records.

The new Products page also supports sorting by:

  • Product name
  • Tag number
  • Vendor
  • Inventory quantity
  • Price

The table now surfaces more useful information directly, including stock, inventory, METRC status, vendor, batch number, category, and out-the-door pricing.

๐Ÿ“Š Dashboards load faster and are easier to read

The Manager Dashboard now loads important cards first and heavier charts afterward, so managers can get key information faster.

Dashboard charts are also clearer, especially category charts, which now show readable labels with category names, sales amounts, and percentages.

๐Ÿท๏ธ Products are easier to manage from one place

Product details now work more like a control center. Staff can view product info, packages, jars, vendors, stock levels, labels, barcodes, and common actions from the same workspace instead of jumping between pages.

Users can now more easily:

  • Edit product details
  • Update product photos
  • Start new package intake
  • View active and inactive packages
  • See jar and package quantities
  • Open vendor or package details directly
  • Print labels and barcodes when printers are configured

๐Ÿค Vendor management is cleaner

Vendor pages now give staff a better view of vendor-related inventory and packages. Vendors can be searched more easily, opened from product rows, and reviewed in a richer detail page.

There is also a new vendor merge workflow, which helps clean up duplicate vendors by keeping one primary vendor, moving stock to it, and archiving duplicates.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Employee and timecard pages are easier to use

Employee and timecard management screens have been refreshed with clearer layouts, summary cards, better actions, and more mobile-friendly tables.

Managers should be able to review employees, recent timecards, open clock-ins, and related actions more quickly.

๐Ÿ“ฐ Blog and news pages should load more efficiently

Blog and news content is now cached, which should make those pages feel faster and reduce unnecessary loading delays.

๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Display Screen is easier to use and more flexible

The Display Screen feature has been updated to make it easier to set up, manage, and use day to day.

Stores now have more options than ever before for customizing how information is shown to customers, giving teams better control over the customer-facing display experience.

๐Ÿš€ Biggest benefits for stores

  • Rebuilt Products page
  • Faster product browsing
  • Sorting by product name, tag number, vendor, inventory quantity, and price
  • Clearer dashboard insights
  • Fewer page jumps
  • Easier vendor cleanup
  • More usable employee and timecard screens
  • Easier and more flexible Display Screen setup

๐ŸŒฟ Thank you for your continued support.

Planned Update for May 13 2026

5/12/2026 5:12:00 PM +00:00

New Product Workspace and smarter stock tools are here.
Managing products, packages, and jars is now much easier. Product Details has been redesigned into a central workspace where you can see package and jar totals, review package quantities, edit products, update photos, intake new packages, and add jars without losing your place.

Stock workflows are also more flexible: you can convert stock into another product, create a new destination product during conversion, make pre-packs from package quantity, and change a package’s product template directly from inventory.

We also improved METRC setup by helping you find license numbers from your API key, and made account registration more reliable by reducing unnecessary CAPTCHA friction.
